ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5) - The Salvation Army hosted it's annual Christmas dinner.
As part of a yearly tradition the downtown location served a full holiday feast for the needy.
Preparations began early Christmas morning and the organization says they planned on to feed more than 200 people.
"We get a lot of homeless people, people that live under the bridge, people come from all around to eat at a place like this on a holiday because they can't afford to go out and eat and they have no way to cook where they're living with what they're doing so serving the people serving the underprivileged is what we here at the Salvation Army strive to do," said Frank Ponthieaux
The Alexandria Salvation Army serves nearly 100 people on a daily basis.
