A gloomy chill greeted folks in central Louisiana on this Monday.
Temperatures started out in the lower 50s to the upper 40s and actually fell during the day and into the evening as a fresh batch of colder air slips through the area. At this time, temperatures are in the upper 30s across the northern portions of central Louisiana while readings are in the middle to the upper 40s down south.
Considerable cloudiness will persist through the night, holding min temps in the 30s. With any clearing; however, some temperatures will fall to freezing over the northern sections of Louisiana.
New Year's Eve is expected to bring a mixture of clouds and sunshine with a continuation of the cool weather.
