Another chilly day for central Louisiana.
Morning lows Tuesday ranged through the 30s across the area with the lowest readings coming in from Jena, Natchez, Miss., and Natchitoches with 34 degrees. Ville Platte stayed up at 39 degrees. The long-term daily average is 39 and the record is 13 in 1983.
High and mid-level clouds kept afternoon temperatures in the 40s. Jonesville, Bentley, and Atlanta only reported a high of 45 degrees. Oakdale and Marksville were able to make 49 degrees. The long-term daily average is 59 and the record is 79 set in 1974.
Clouds will continue to dominate the sky for New Year's Day. Rain will overspread the area by Wednesday night.
