ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5) - If your New Year's resolution was to lose some weight a local health club has some motivation for you.

The Courtyard Health and Racquet Club is hosting it's fifth Cenla's Biggest Loser competition.

The twelve week program focuses on weight loss goals and teaching healthy habits.

Trainers say participants have lost more than 8,000 pounds with the program.

"They get to be with us for three months, we teach them how to exercise correctly. A lot of people don't want to come in a gym, they're intimidated and that's my job is to welcome them and let them know that this is here for us," said Heidi McMickens.

The program starts Sunday, January 5th.

The cost for individuals is $229 and $209 for couples.
