RPSO: Stabbing victim arrested

RAPIDES PARISH, La. (KALB News Channel 5) Rapides Parish Police arrest Pollock man in stabbing investigation.

According to the Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office, Michael Lynn Edwards Sr., 52, of Pollock was arrested on Jan. 2, 2014 and charged with one count Domestic Abuse-Strangulation.

RPSO said on Dec. 13, 2013 deputies from the Tioga Sub-station responded to a medical emergency in Pineville and made contact with a victim who had allegedly been stabbed in the left buttocks with a knife by his girlfriend. RPSO detectives and Crime Scene responded to the scene, and Acadian Ambulance transported the victim to a local hospital.  

Detectives interviewed several witnesses, and said they determined the person that stabbed the victim was attempting to protect herself. Police said the victim was treated and later released from a local hospital. RPSO said on Jan. 2, the victim came to the RPSO Detective Division where an interview was conducted, and Edwards was arrested. 

RPSO said Edwards was booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center where he remains at the time of this release being held without bond.
