By all accounts, it was a nice day.
The morning was cold, however, with lows in the 30s. But Fairfield in Grant Parish fell all the way to 29 degrees. Winnfield, Jena, Atlanta, Leesville, and Fullerton all reported 30 degrees. DeRidder and Marksville were the warm spots, with 39 and 38 respectively. The long-term average is 39 and the record is 11 in 1964.
Sunshine brought afternoon highs up into the 60s at most locations; however, Bellwood and Williana hit 70 degrees. Natchez, Miss. made it up to 63 and Opelousas reported 64. The long term daily average is 59 and the record is 81 in 1947.
A cold front will sweep through tonight, bringing a chilly wind to central Louisiana Wednesday.
