Central Louisiana residents felt Thursday night's cold front today.
Morning lows were in the lower 40s to the middle 30s. Clouds moved in overnight Thursday and affected the temperature pattern this morning. Some locations where the clouds influenced the temperature first only fell into the lower 40s. For example, Natchitoches, Colfax, and Fullereton reported a min temp of 42 degrees. In contrast, Oakdale was able to crater at 33 degrees. The 30-year daily average is 38 and the record is 14 in 1982.
The clouds cleared by the afternoon but the sunshine was only able to warm temperatures into the 50s. Winnfield hit 53 degrees while Oakdale, Marksville, and Pine Prarie saw 59 degrees. The 30-year daily average is 59 and the record is 79 in 1935.
The weekend weather looks good, although it will be a cold start Saturday morning.
