APD: woman arrested for impersonating a police officer

 ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5) – A Houston, Texas woman has been arrested by the Alexandria Police Department for false personation of a police officer.

According to APD, on January 21, Alexandria Police arrested Hope E. Poletto, 39,

At 7:58 p.m., APD Officers were dispatched to 812 Third Street, in reference to a suspicious person.

The caller stated a female in tactical clothing and handgun was having a few drinks at Finnegan's Wake.

Upon arrival, the female was disarmed and escorted outside for questioning.

The female, now identified as Poletto, stated she was a federal agent who was in town working for a local police department; however she could not produce any identification or credentials when asked.

The agencies Poletto stated she was working for were contacted and had no knowledge of her or any ongoing operation in our area.

Poletto was arrested without incident and transported to the Rapides Parish Detention Center for booking. The handgun was found to be a plastic BB gun.
