APD: man charged with burglarizing pharmacy

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5) – An Alexandria man has been arrested and charged for burglarizing a pharmacy.

According to the Alexandria Police, they arrested Daniel Couvillion, 38, of Alexandria and charged him with 1ct-Burglary of Pharmacy.

APD said at 10:50 p.m. on January 20, APD Officers responded to an alarm activation at 219 Macarthur Drive, (Rite Aid).

Upon arrival, officers noticed a broken window. Additional units were in the area and stopped a male subject for a field interview.

The subject, identified as Couvillion was found to be in possession of a bag containing a large quantity of medication, some having Rite Aid labels on them.

Further investigation by officers linked Couvillion to the burglary.

Couvillion was arrested and transported to the Rapides Parish Detention Center for booking.

This incident is still under investigation and no other details are available for release at this time.
