APD: man arrested for home invasion

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5) – Alexandria Police have arrested an Alexandria man for home invasion.

According to APD, on January 20, Alexandria Police arrested Dustin Thompson, 28.

At 7:55 p.m. that evening, APD Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1600 Block of Rensselaer Street in reference to a home invasion. Upon arrival, officers contacted the complainant.

The investigation found that following a verbal altercation between Thompson and a victim who lived at this location, Thompson left the residence but returned a short while later and kicked in the front door.

Thompson left the residence when police were called. Thompson was located and arrested later in the Webster Street area.

Thompson was transported to the Rapides Parish Detention Center for booking.

This incident is still under investigation and no other details are being released at this time.
