APD: man arrested for burglarizing business

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5) - An Alexandria man has been arrested for robbing a business.

According to the Alexandria Police Department, Reginald W. Winfield, Junior, 20, has been charged with 10cts- Simple Burglary of Vehicle, 2cts- Simple Burglary (Commercial), and 1ct- Possession with Intent, CDS Sch I.

 

At 1:30 p.m., APD Officers were dispatched to 1916 North Bolton Ave, (Cenla Campers) in reference to several camping trailers being broken into.

Upon arrival, the owner stated while unlocking trailers, he noticed that several trailers had been burglarized. APD Detectives were called in to assist in the investigation.

Further investigation led officers to an apartment located in the 1300 Block of Enterprise Road where Winfield was located and arrested. Search incidental to arrest found Winfield to be in possession of several bags of suspected Marijuana.

Detectives also found evidence connecting Winfield with (2) two burglaries of the Capri Video store located at 1820 North Macarthur Drive reported in November and December of 2013.

Winfield was transported to the Rapides Parish Detention Center for booking.

This incident is still under investigation and no other details are available for release at this time.
