NATCHITOCHES PARISH, La. (KALB News Channel 5) - Natchitoches Parish Sheriff's Deputies have arrested a Texas fugitive near Natchitoches according to Natchitoches Parish Sheriff Victor Jones Jr.

On Tuesday January 28th,  Deputies Brandon Smith and Clinton Dunn assigned to the NPSO Criminal Patrol Division received information that a former Texas man now living in the Natchitoches area, was wanted by Texas authorities for an Aggravated Sexual Assault involving a 15 year old juvenile female.

Deputies began following up on the leads. They collaborated information learning the fugitive was employed locally in Natchitoches.

Deputies then began checking possible locations in the Natchitoches area, where the suspect was believed to be living and during those checks received reliable information of his whereabouts.

Deputies went to a residence in the 2600 block of Johnson Chute Road near Natchitoches, and while attempting to make contact with an occupant of the residence, observed a subject attempting to elude them through a rear door of the residence, while armed with a loaded revolver according to Captain Tony Moran.

Deputies issued verbal commands to man, and took him into custody without incident, positively identifying him as the suspect wanted in Texas.

During a search of his person, deputies seized the loaded revolver, and drug paraphernalia.
