RPSO arrest suspect in theft investigation

RAPIDES PARISH, La. (KALB News Channel 5) Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office arrest Cheneyville man on charges of theft.

According to the Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office, on Jan. 27, 2014, Deputies responded to a theft complaint in Cheneyville, La. RPSO said the suspect was identified as James Roger Guinn, 46. Guinn had allegedly stolen money out of the victims' purses.

RPSO said on Jan. 30, 2014, Detectives made contact with Guinn and arrested him on two active warrants for Theft and Failure to Pay Fine. During a follow up investigation, Detectives determined that Guinn had committed the thefts, and he was arrested for one count of theft under $100. On Feb. 1, Detectives arrested Guinn on warrants for two more counts of theft under $300. 

Guinn was transported to the Rapides Parish Detention Center, and he remains on Probation Violation without bond. Detectives said the investigation is continuing.
