NPSO: Woman arrested in ongoing theft investigation

NATCHITOCHES, La. (KALB News Channel 5) – NPSO Detectives arrest second suspect in Clarence theft investigation.

According to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff's Office, a Bienville Parish woman wanted in a theft investigation near Clarence, turned herself into detectives on Feb. 3, 2014. Cindy Joy Thompson, also known as Cindy Garlington, 55, of Hodge, La. was arrested and charged with three counts of Theft by Fraud. Thompson was booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center.

Last week, Bobby Gorum, 50, of Clarence, La. was arrested in connection with the same incident. According to NPSO, Thompson and a Gorum were identified as suspects in the theft of items stolen from a residence while the homeowner was in an assisted living facility.

Gorum was booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center and charged with two counts of Felony Theft, and six counts of Theft by Fraud. Detectives said Gorum confessed to the thefts, and he remains in the Natchitoches Detention Center awaiting bond.
