Two charged with possession after investigation

RAPIDES PARISH, La. (KALB News Channel 5) - On Feb. 6, 2014, Detectives assigned to the Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office Metro Division assisted the U.S. Marshal's Violent Offenders Task Force with an investigation. 

RPSO reported the Task Force was following up on tips in an attempt to locate a fugitive at 5447 Mansour Drive Apartment #A in Alexandria, La. 

Vontraveous Boyd, 25,  and Crystal Chapman Boyd, 24, both of the apartment residence, were located in the home along with approximately two pounds of Marijuana and a .380 caliber handgun. 

Boyd, a convicted Felon on Parole, is prohibited from possessing firearms.  The marijuana was packaged in larger bulk bags with numerous baggies containing smaller quantities, according to RPSO. 

Boyd is charged with Possession of CDS I to Distribute, Firearm Possession by a Convicted Felon, and Illegal Carry of Weapons/Drugs.

Chapman was charged with Possession of CDS I to Distribute.

Boyd and Chapman were taken into custody without incident and transported to the Rapides Parish Detention Center for booking, said RPSO. 

Boyd is being held on a Parole Violation in addition to $12,500.00 bond.

Chapman was released on $5,000.00 bond.
