Domestic dispute ends with murder, APD reports

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5) - Alexandria Police Department officers responded to a shots fired complainant in the 3200 Block of Monroe Street at approximately 6:16 p.m. on Feb. 8, 2014.

Responding officers reported they arrived at the location to find a female inside a residence suffering from a gunshot. APD Detectives and crime scene were called in to assist.

The investigation found that during a domestic related altercation between Justin L. Foots, 24, of Alexandria, and the victim, a handgun was discharged striking the victim, according to APD.

APD reports Foots was arrested on scene without incident. He was charged with 1 count of 2nd Degree Murder and 1 count Possession of Firearm by Convicted Felon.

The victim, Miranda L Ross, 20, of Alexandria, was transported to a local hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

This incident is still under investigation and no other details are being released at this time.
