ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5) -- The Alexandria Police Department is proud of its law enforcement professionals for their continuing efforts to remove impaired drivers form the highways.
In order to recognize these vital efforts, Louisiana Highway Safety Commission has initiated a DWI Enforcement Award Program for law enforcement, prosecutors and judges.
The Alexandria Police Department is pleased to announce that for the fifth consecutive year the Department received the Municipal Police Department DWI Enforcement Award from the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission.
Additionally, Cpl. Jarrod King received his first Municipal Police Officer DWI Enforcement Award. Cpl. King is a 17 year veteran of the Alexandria Police Department and has been assigned to the D.W.I. Task Force for the past nine years.
Corporal King will be invited to the Annual LHSC DWI Enforcement Awards Program Ceremony Luncheon in Baton Rouge on March 18, 2014 to receive his award and the award for the department.
