Posted: Updated:

BOYCE, La. (KALB News Channel 5) - On Feb. 8, 2014 at approximately 7:21 p.m., deputies from the Boyce Sub-station responded to the 200 block of  Magellan Pass, Boyce, LA, in reference to a burglary, according to Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office.

Upon arrival, deputies claim they made contact with the victim who stated he had been burglarized but the only thing that was missing was prescription medications.

RPSO says the deputy learned that a family member of the victim observed a suspect, later identified as Tracy Joseph Johnson, 24, coming from the front of the residence.

Deputies were unable to locate the suspect at that time and the case was turned over to detectives for further investigation.

Detectives located the suspect on Feb. 10 and he was arrested without incident and booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center for two counts Simple Burglary, one count Criminal Trespassing, and one count Theft under $300, RPSO reports.

He was later released on a $7,500.00 bond.

Detectives say the investigation is continuing into other burglaries in the area.

                                220 Magellan Pass, Boyce, LA
