I've spoken to the weather watchers and they agree that this week has started with better weather than last week.
Morning lows ranged through the 50s into the 60s. Winnfield was the coolest location with 55 degrees while Colfax was a close second with 56 degrees. Oakdale reported a low of only 61 with Fairfield, DeRidder, Eunice, and Peason Range at 60 degrees. The long-term daily average is 41 and the record is 19 in 1903.
Afternoon highs ranged through the 70s despite a mostly cloudy sky. Bellwood, Natchitoches, and Oakdale reported 79 degrees for the warm spots while Fort Polk only hit 73 degrees. The long-term daily average is 63 and the record is 82 in 2000.
A weak front will slip into central Louisiana tonight but will have little affect on temperatures.
