Body found in Bayou Rapides

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5) – Alexandria Police Department has identified the body found in Bayou Rapides.

Police tell us he is Jerry Cubbit, Jr., 39, of Dry Prong.

Alexandria Police Department detectives are currently investigating a report of a deceased male that was discovered in Bayou Rapides on February 20, at about 7:54 a.m.

Officers arrived to the location of the bayou near the 3000 block of MacArthur Drive and secured the scene. APD detectives and Crime Scene were called out to assist.

According to APD, the body was recovered and has been identified. However, the identity is being withheld pending family notification. An autopsy will be conducted to determine exact cause of death.

There were no immediate signs of foul play observed.

No other details regarding this investigation are available at this time.
