Grant Parish, La. (KALB News Channel 5) – A crash involving a motorcycle killed a man from Summerdale, Ala., on February 20.

According to Louisiana State Police, troopers responded to the crash around 2:10 p.m., which occurred on Fletcher Loop Road near LA Hwy 1240.

The crash involved a 2011 Harley Davidson motorcycle, driven by Allen B. Bryan, 59.

The Harley was southbound on Fletcher Loop Road when Bryan lost control and exited the right side of the roadway.  After exiting the roadway, the motorcycle collided with a tree and Bryan was ejected.

Bryan was wearing a helmet, but was pronounced dead.

Motorcyclists must wear a proper US D.O.T. helmet when operating their motorcycle on Louisiana roadways.  Although not all crashes are survivable, properly utilizing safety equipment like approved motorcycle helmets and seatbelts decrease your risk of serious injury or death.
