Burglary in Progress arrest made in Alexandria

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5) – Alexandria Police Department officers were dispatched to a residence in the 3400 Block of Parkway Drive in reference to a burglary in progress on February 20, 2014.

According to APD, Anthony J. Ferrell, 28, of Alexandria was arrested and charged with 3counts-Simple Burglary of Inhabited Dwelling, 4 counts-Unauthorized Use of Access Card, and 1 count-Identity Theft.

The complainant reported a male subject broke into her home, APD says. When the victim saw the subject, he fled on foot.

A description of the subject was given out to assisting offices and Ferrell was quickly detained nearby.

Ferrell was arrested on APD warrants listing the above charges following the investigation of several residential and vehicle burglaries in the central Alexandria area.

APD reported the investigation is ongoing and other charges are expected.

There are no other details regarding this investigation available for release at this time.

Anthony J. Ferrell has 34 Bookings in the Rapides Parish System, reported APD.
