A CLOUDY SUNDAY - KALB-TV News Channel 5 & CBS 2

Posted: Updated:

Clouds dominated the sky for most CenLa residents on this Sunday.

Morning lows dropped into the 40s and 50s. The lowest readings came in from Fairfield and Winnfield with 47 degrees and Jena with 48. Bunkie, DeRidder, and Fort Polk saw their thermometers fall no lower than 58 degrees. The long-term daily average is 43 and the record is 16 in 1968.

The afternoon brought a mixture of 60s and 70s. Fullerton and Oakdale were the cool spots with 67 degrees while a punch of drier air and some sunshine forced the thermometer at Many all the way up to 78 degrees while Natchitoches hit 76. The long-term daily average is 65 and the record is 84 set in 1907.

Scattered rain fell mainly over the southern parishes. Rainfall totals were generally light but Grand Coteau measured 0.73 inches and Eunice 0.38.

A cold front will slip through central Louisiana tonight. Light rain may accompany or follow this front tonight. Monday looks mostly cloudy and cooler.
