ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5) - Emmanuel Baptist church hosted a Taste of Louisiana on February 27.
The event is a fundraiser for the Emmanuel Baptist Day School.
It is held every two years for the school.
Taste of Louisiana featured all types of Louisiana foods from catfish to jambalaya.
There were also silent auctions and
"We think it is really important that a church day school would do an event that is fun for the community. We always see the churches doing really religious events which is important to us, but we also believe part of our faith is having fun and inviting the community to come do something enjoyable," said Chris Thacker, pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
This is the third time Emmanuel Baptist Church has hosted the event.
