NSU spring gala will celebrate student talents

NATCHITOCHES, La. (KALB News Channel 5) – Northwestern State University's spring gala, the President's CommandPerformance, will highlight the talents of students in the Mrs. H.D. Dear Sr.and Alice Estelle Dear School of Creative Performing Arts. 

The event will take place Friday, April 4 inthe Alumni Plaza, Orville Hanchey Gallery and Magale Recital Hall. ThePresident's Command Performance will also serve as an induction ceremony forBill Brent as the inaugural member of the CAPA Hall of Fame. 

Tickets are $65 per person or $125 percouple.  Sponsorships are available atthe Title level for $1,500 and the Table levels for $750.  All proceeds will benefit the NSU Foundation.

Entertainment will be provided theNSU Men's Chorus, NSU Lyric women's chorus, the Jazz Orchestra, the WindSymphony, the Natchitoches-Northwestern Symphony Orchestra and various smallensembles.

Michael Rorex, associate professor in CAPA, will be featured as avocal soloist with the Wind Symphony. Brent will appear as conductor.

The President's Command Performancewill begin at 6:00 p.m. with a cocktail reception and silent auction in the AlumniPlaza and Orville Hanchey Gallery, followed by a concluding musical performancein Magale Recital Hall.
