Burglary and narcotics arrest made in Alexandria

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5) - On March 4, 2014, Alexandria Police were dispatched to a residence in the 400 Block of Camile Street in reference to an investigation.

APD said the complainant reported a suspicious vehicle parked behind a vacant residence with its lights off.

Upon officer's arrival, contact was made with Waylon Maxwell, 38, of Colfax, and Samantha Walding, 34, of Alexandria.

The investigation resulted in officers arresting Maxwell and Walding after finding suspected Methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle, according to APD.

Maxwell was arrested and charged with 1 count Criminal Trespass, 1 count Possession of SCH II Drugs, 1 count Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and upon further investigation by APD detectives, 3 counts Simple Burglary.

Walding was arrested and charged with 1 count Criminal Trespass, 1 count Possession of SCH II Drugs, 1 count Possession of SCH III Drugs, and 1 count Introducing Contraband to a Penal Institution.

APD reported these residential burglaries all occurred in the 400 Block of Camile Street over the past two months.

This incident is still under investigation and no other details are available for release at this time.
