LSUA to begin offering online degrees

Posted: Updated:

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5) – LSU of Alexandria is proud to announce the launch of four online degree programs beginning in Fall 2014.  The programs include Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Medical Technology Science.

All courses will be taught by LSUA credentialed faculty.

Both the Business Administration and Criminal Justice programs are 100% online.  BSN and Medical Technology are hybrid programs consisting of both online and traditional classwork.

The BSN program consists of 75% online courses and will be completely 100% online within two years.

"LSUA has been offering online courses since 2001.  Our online courses are very popular; but prior to Fall 2014, you could not get an entire LSUA degree online," says LSUA Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs Dr. Barbara Hatfield.

"With LSUA's tuition rates among the lowest in the state, we expect our online programs to be particularly attractive to working adults, especially those with some college and no degree and those who need a degree for upward mobility in their current position."

LSUA is now accepting applications for fall admission.  LSUA admission requirements do apply and can be found at www.lsua.edu.

The cost for a full-time online LSUA student is $3,200 per semester.

Those interested in applying may visit www.lsua.edu for more information or call 1-888-473-6417.
