**3-10 UPDATE** Pineville shooting under investigation

***UPDATE*** 

(KALB News Channel 5) - Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office detectivesreleased more details in the shooting that occurred Thursday night onBrannon Road. 

Detectives said their investigation revealed , David WayneLachney, 40, of Pineville, was involved in an altercation with the victim. 

Lachney allegedly shot the victim during the altercation and then turned thegun on himself, according to RPSO. 

Lachney was pronounced dead on the scene from a apparentself inflicted gunshot wound. 

The victim is still listed in SERIOUScondition at a local hospital. 

"This is one of those terrible tragediesthat effect so many people.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to all thoseinvolved" said Sheriff William Earl Hilton.

PINEVILLE, La. (KALB News Channel 5) - On March 6, 2014 at approximately 9:45pm, Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office deputies responded to the 1100 block of Brannon Rd in reference to a victim of a gunshot wound. 

Upon arrival, deputies said located two subjects that were the victim of gunshot wounds, one subject was un-responsive and was pronounced dead on the scene. 

The other victim was transported by Acadian Ambulance to a local hospital where they are listed in serious condition, according to RPSO. 

Detectives and Crime Scene responded to the scene and the incident is still under investigation.
