LSUA student president goes to D.C.

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5) - Monday will be a big day for the president of LSUA's student government.

Thanks to his work at the college, Giovanni Rueda is making a trip to Washington, D.C. for a tour of the White House.

Rueda was elected to LSUA's student government first as a senator, and then as president his senior year.

He is the first student government president from LSUA to make the D.C. trip--just one of many achievements in his college career.

"It's definitely a big achievement for me, more specifically because at the beginning when I started I didn't believe in myself," said Rueda. "And now through the school and through student government and education, I know I'm ready to move on to do bigger and better things."

Rueda will also be the only student to represent the entire LSU system this year on his tour of the White House.
