RPSO: Man arrested for breaking into barge

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5) Alexandria man arrested for burglary incident. 

On March 9, Alexandria Police arrested one suspect after responding to a report of two men breaking into a barge located near the Union Pacific Railroad Bridge.

APD said upon the arrival of an officer, two suspects fled on foot. The Officer was able to detain John Jones, 21, of Alexandria. Police were not able to locate the second suspect. 

APD arrested Jones and charged him with one count of simple burglary and one count of resisting an Officer. Jones was transported to the Rapides Parish Detention Center for booking. 

APD said this incident is still under investigation and other arrests are expected
