Arrest made in Rainbow Drive theft

PINEVILLE, La. (KALB News Channel 5) - On Dec. 11, 2013, the Rapides Parish Sheriff's Officereceived a complaint in reference to a theft from a local constructioncompany. 

A portable light plant generator had been stolen from a constructionsite near US Hwy 165 and Rainbow Drive in Pineville. 

These types ofportable lighting are used at construction sights' to provide light at nightand early morning work and are pulled behind a truck. 

RPSO Detectivesinvestigated the incident and through evidence discovered, obtained arrestwarrants Will Dillard McGrew, Jr., 48, of Alexandria. 

During theinvestigation, detectives said they learned McGrew was the suspect in thefts from 2 otherlocal construction companies and an equipment rental company. 

On Jan.6, 2014, McGrew was located by RPSO with the assistance of the US Marshal'sViolent Offenders Task Force and was arrested on seven active warrantsincluding some from Lafayette Parish and a Caddo Parish Probation & Paroleviolation. 

On Jan. 9, 2014, arrest warrants were issued on McGrew forthe charges of 3 counts of criminal trespass, 2 counts of criminal damage$500-$50,000, 2 counts of theft of $1,500 or more and 2 counts of theft of amotor vehicle over $500. 

McGrew is currently incarcerated at the RapidesParish Detention Center with a bond totaling $35,750.00. 

Detectives saythe investigation is ongoing.
