ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5) - It's senior project time, and some Bolton students were really eating it up.
They hosted Taste of Bolton event at Bolton High School in Alexandria.
Students involved chose it as their senior project as a way to learn more about their cultures of origin.
Each project involved about 20 hours of cooking and studying up on the culture of their ancestors.
"They wanted to learn where they came from and their families were influential on helping them discover that. With this activity, they were able to look at both sides: the culture and how food is a large part of who we are, in terms of our culture," said Amanda Phillips, a teacher at the school.
The admission to the event was given to the school's PBA program.
