Man arrested in Riverfront Center vehicle burglary

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5) - On March 13, 2014, Alexandria Police were dispatched to the Riverfront Center located at 707 2nd Street in reference to a burglary in progress.

The caller reported seeing a male subject looking into a vehicle that had a broken window, according to APD.

Responding officers reported they arrived and observed Victor Sermons, 40, of Boyce, in a vehicle that had a window busted out.

Officers quickly detained Sermons.

APD said the investigation found that two vehicles belonging to the Riverfront Center had windows busted out and were burglarized.

Further investigation by officers connected Sermons to the burglaries.

Sermons was placed under arrest and transported to the Rapides Parish Detention Center for booking. He was charged with 2 counts Burglary of a Vehicle.

This incident is still under investigation and no other details are being released at this time.
