NSU announces early registration

NATCHITOCHES, La. (KALB News Channel 5) – Registration forthe summer and fall 2014 semester will begin next week at Northwestern StateUniversity and students are encouraged to begin signing up for classes as soonas possible.

Northwestern State students canbegin the registration procedure by meeting with their advisor. They can beginsigning up for spring classes through NSU Connect on March 17-21.

Graduate students, authorizedADA students with a permit, honor students with a cumulative 3.5 grade pointaverage and 12 or more hours and student-athletes can begin registering onMarch 17.

Seniors can start signing up onMarch 18 and juniors can begin registering on March 19. On March 20, sophomorescan begin scheduling summer and fall classes and freshmen and non-traditionalstudents (adults 25 and over) with less than 30 hours can start registering onMarch 21.

"Early registration is essential for students—especiallyfor those who need upper level courses," said Dr. Lisa Abney, provost and vicepresident for academic and student affairs. "If students wait to registerfor a class, the class may fill quickly, so it's important that students getenrolled as soon as possible."

Early registration for the summer 12-week session isavailable through May 18. Students can enroll for the summer eight-week sessionand the first four-week session until June 1. Early registration for the secondfour-week session is available through June 29.

Early registration for the fall semester takes place untilAugust 17.

Students who register for thefall semester between March 17 and May 2 will be eligible to win a weeklydrawing for a $25 gift card.
