*UPDATE* RPSO and LPSO investigating homicide

**UPDATE 3-18 ** - 

According to Sheriff Scott Franklin of Lasalle Parish, an arrest has been made in the homicide investigation of Mary Worley.

On a warrant issued by the Lasalle Sheriff's Office, Rapides Sheriff's detectives have arrested Michael Worley, 56 of Pineville, for 2nd Degree Murder.  Michael Worley is the husband of the victim.

Worley was arrested at his residence on Nickel Loop without incident and booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center.

Lasalle detectives will be transporting Worley back to Jena for booking.

Rapides detectives may also have charges on Worley in the next few days.

"I want to commend all of the deputies and detectives from both Lasalle and Rapides for their investigation into this terrible crime. Our thoughts and prayers are with Mary's family and friends" said Sheriff Franklin.

Rapides detectives are continuing their investigation into this homicide and will release more information as it becomes available.

**UPDATE 3-18** - An official cause of death has not been determined at this; however, authorities say Worley suffered a gun shot wound to the back of the head.

**UPDATE 3-17** - The remains have been identified as Mary Worley, 58, from Pineville. A cause of death has not been released, as autopsy results are pending. No arrests have been made at this time.

LASALLE PARISH, La. (KALB News Channel 5) - The Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office is assisting the LaSalle Parish Sheriff's Office in an investigation of the recovery of a body of a female on March 14, 2014.

According to RPSO, the body was found in LaSalle Parish. An autopsy has been ordered and cause of death is unknown at this time.

According to LaSalle Sheriff's Office, the case is being investigated as a homicide. 

RPSO detectives say the identity of the victim will be withheld until next of kin are notified.

No further information into this ongoing investigation is available at this time.
