Grant parish constable arrested on multiple charges

GRANT PARISH, La. (KALB News Channel 5) - TheGrant Parish Sheriff's Office received a report of a disturbance in the Fishville community on March 17, 2014. 

When the deputyarrived, the aggressor, Richard Duran Armstrong had left the residence. 

Armstrong is an elected constable for the Pollock area. 

When the deputyfinished interviewing the complainants they left the residence. 

TheGrant Parish Sheriff's Office received another call from Armstrong's daughterstating that he was trying to run her and her mother off of Hwy. 165 south ofPollock. 

Armstrong then pulled his truck in front of his wife anddaughter's vehicle and tried to stop them.  They were able to drive aroundhim and pass. 

Armstrong then activated his emergency lights in hispersonal truck, passed them again and forced them to stop in the middle of Hwy.165 by blocking their path. 

When deputies arrived at that locationArmstrong had already left.  He was located a short time later at a residencesouth of Pollock. 

RichardDuran Armstrong, 55 years old, of Pollock, was arrested forAggravated Assault (domestic violence), Aggravated Obstruction of a Roadway,False Imprisonment, Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle, and Malfeasance inOffice. 

He was booked into the Grant Parish Sheriff's Office and a bondwas set in the amount of $5,000.
