2014 Sacramento County Fair Contest Announcement

Sacramento, California / ACCESSWIRE / March 19, 2014 / The 2014 Sacramento County Fair is pleased to announce the following contests and is now accepting applications. All entry forms are available on the Sacramento County Fairs website, http://www.sacfair.com/. For questions, please call 916-397-8655 or 916-263-2975. Advanced entry is encouraged for all Contests:

Saturday, May 24 Community Stage
Kid’s Talent Auditions 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Young Performers Wanted, Saturday, May 24. Don’t miss this opportunity to showcase your talent and compete for cash and prizes at the Sacramento County Fair’s 1st Annual Kid’s Talent Auditions. Auditions begin at 9:00 a.m. on the Community Stage. Anyone aged 14 and under can participate. Come prepared with a 2 minute audition piece, all music must be on a CD. Twelve finalists will be selected and move on to Kid’s Showcase, Sunday, May 25 at 1:00pm. The Winner will receive $150, Corn Dog on a Stick, stuffed animal, ride tickets plus more. 1st and 2nd runner ups will also receive cash and other prizes. Reserve a slot in advance at tnovoa@sacfair.com. No Walk-Ins.

Saturday, May 24 Main Stage
Corn Dog Eating Contest 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Sponsored by Milo’s Corn Dogs

Do you have what it takes? Join us for the Annual Corn Dog Eating Contest sponsored by Milo’s Corn Dogs. Contestants will go head to head in a 4 minute timed event competing for $500 Cold Hard Cash as well as the bragging rights as the champion! Entry fees before May 9 are $10.00 afterwards $15.00. Must be 18 years of age or older. Don’t miss out; the competition is going to be dog-gone crazy!

Monday, May 26 Community Stage
6th Annual Diaper Derby 12:00 p.m.

Come watch as these little ones crawl in front of flashing cameras and cheering crowds. It will the slowest and funniest 90 seconds in sports! All babies must be under 12 months old, born after May 27, 2013 and not walking. So sign up your little girl or boy and get ready to say Go! All babies will receive a participant ribbon and winner will receive an additional gift.

Over 100,000 guests will enjoy the Sacramento County Fair May 22-26, 2014 on the grounds of Cal Expo. Close to 10,000 school children enjoy free educational school tours. Over 5,000 local residents compete for awards in the livestock and competitive exhibit programs. Kids under 12 enjoy free admission every day at the Fair. This year’s theme is Let’s Eat, Have Fun & Celebrate the Red, White, & Blue.
