Ronnie Milsap performance at Paragon cancelled due to illness

MARKSVILLE, La. (KALB News Channel 5) - Officials from Paragon Casino Resort have announced todaythat the Ronnie Milsap concert scheduled for Friday, March 21, has beencanceled.

According to a press release issued by Millsap's agency, he is stillrecovering from recent surgery and is under doctor's supervision; therefore, hehas not been cleared to travel or perform.

Refunds for tickets are available atthe original point of purchase.

John Michael Montgomery will take the stage inMilsap's place. Tickets are on sale for $20.

Montgomery, a native of Danville, Kentuckystarted playing music and performed in the family band with his brother andfather.

He first arrived on the country music scene in 1992 with a debut album,"Life's a Dance" that became the only million-seller on the country charts by anew artist that year. 

The title track became a #4 hit single and wasfollowed by his first country chart hit "I Love the Way You Love Me."

Montgomery's other hit songsinclude "Cover You in Kisses", "I Swear",  "Home to You", " Be My BabyTonight", " If You've Got Love", " I Can Love You Like That",  "No Man'sLand", " I Love the Way You Love Me", " How Was I to Know, Cowboy Love" and"Long as I Live."

Montgomery has released 11 albums and has wonseveral awards including the CMA Horizon Award and was named ACM's Top NewVocalist, setting off a long series of awards that included the CMA's Singleand Song of the Year, Billboard's Top Country Artist and a Grammy nomination.
