Two arrested for cruelty to a juvenile in Boyce

BOYCE, La. (KALB News Channel 5) - On March 13, 2014, Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a complaint in reference to child abuse that occurred in the Boyce area. 

RPSO reported the complainant reported that a Chasity Rene' Perkins, 32, and Jarohn Christopher Perkins, 39, had physically abused a juvenile family member while disciplining them. 

During their investigation, RPSO detectives said they were able to establish sufficient probable cause that supported the allegations. 

Warrants were issued for the Perkin's arrest in reference to Cruelty To a Juveniles. 

On March 19, 2014, detectivessaid they made contact with Chasity and Jarohn Perkins at the RPSO Criminal Investigation Division. 

Chasity Rene' Perkins and Jarohn Christopher Perkins, both of Boyce, were taken into custody without incident and booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center, according to RPSO. 

Both Perkins' were charged with 1 count Cruelty to a Juvenile each. 

The two were later released after each posted a $1,500.00 bond.  

RPSO said due to the severity of case, detectives asked that a Temporary Restraining Order was also granted protecting the juvenile, which prevents any contact with Chasity and Jarohn Perkins.
