Cool weather continued Monday following Sunday morning's cold front.
Morning lows ranged through the 40s with Winnfield and Atlanta the "cold spots" with 42 degrees. Simmesport, Esler Airport, Bunkie, and Ville Platte reported 47 degrees. The long-term daily average is 49 and the record is 26 in 1968.
Clouds kept afternoon highs in the 60s. Winnfield once again was the lowest readings at 63 degrees while Simpson, Fairfield, Anacoco, and Ball/Tioga hit 67. The 30-year daily average is 73 and the record is a hot 91 in 1907.
The sky will clear Monday night and temperatures will fall into the upper 30s to the lower 40s.
