The consequences of drinking and driving can be costly no matter how manydrinks you have consumed.  The task of stopping impaired drivers is ajoint effort of law enforcement agencies and the public.

By neverallowing an impaired driver to get behind the wheel of a vehicle and reportingdangerous drivers to law enforcement, the public can play an important role inthe reduction of crashes caused by impaired drivers.

"There is no reason in this day and time, anyone should bedriving impaired.

It is a lot easier to get a friend to come get you froma bar than it is to come and bond you out of our jail" said Sheriff WilliamEarl Hilton.

Making poor decisions in a vehicle such as driving impaired, driving whiledistracted or not wearing a seat belt leads to serious injuries and deathsevery day across the state.

Making the responsible decision can mean thedifference between life and death.

Arrive alive.  Don't drinkor text and drive.  The life you save may be your own.

A slow "farmer's" rain fell across the area today as the area was blasted with tropical moisture to the south. As high pressure setup across the eastern U.S., tropical moisture banked up against it and consolidated across the northwestern Gulf of Mexico. As a trough approached from the west, the high pressure pushed eastward allowing the tropical moisture to finally move northward in bulk.
