Natchitoches man sentenced in 2011 armed robbery

Natchitoches, LA. (KALB News Channel 5) — Natchitoches man faces prison for charges of attempted second degree murder, armed robbery.

A Natchitoches man was sentenced to 45 years in prison in the 10th District Court on March 26, according to Natchitoches Parish District Attorney Van Kyzar.

Jamarlon "Bohunka" Pierre, 32, was convicted of attempted second degree murder and armed robbery following a jury trial in January of this year.

Pierre was arrested by Natchitoches Parish Sheriff's Office detectives in 2012 following a months' long investigation into a home invasion robbery that occurred in December 2011 at a residence on Posey Road in Natchitoches Parish. Kyzar said a female resident, who testified at trial, was shot during the robbery and money was taken from the house.

District Judge Eric R. Harrington ordered the sentence of 45 years on each of the counts to run concurrently and to be served without the possibility of parole.
