GPSO arrests man on nine charges

GRANT PARISH, La. (KALB News Channel 5) Report of suspicious package leads to arrest of man by GPSO.

The Grant Parish Sheriff's Office have arrested a St. Martinville man on nine charges after receiving a call from a woman about a suspicious package she received in the mail. The package was addressed to her ex-boyfriend Kris Barras and contained marijuana. 

GPSO said Barras arrived to pick up the package with his 2-year-old child. GPSO discovered he was driving under suspension with expired vehicle registration and an illegal window tint. Barras also had drug paraphernalia, synthetic marijuana and an open bottle of Crown Royal in his vehicle. 

Kris Barras, 36, was arrested by GPSO for Possession of CDS I, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Driving Under Suspension, Expired Registration, Illegal Window Tint, Open Container and Illegal Use of CDS in Presence of Minor. Barras was also arrested for current warrants of Aggravated Assault and Domestic Abuse Battery.
