The weather stayed cool for yet another day as clouds mixed with sunshine.
The day began with temperatures well below normal. A few locations touched the freezing mark, including Jena and Natchez, Miss. In contrast, temperatures stayed in the lower 40s at Eunice, Opelousas, Fort Polk, DeRidder, Marksville, and Oberlin. Patchy frost was observed where readings fell into the 30s.
Afternoon highs made it into the 60s, except at Oakdale where the thermometer only maxed out at 58 degrees. Bellwood reported 66 degrees and was followed closely by Esler Airport and Marksville with 65.
A few sprinkles were noted across Beauregard, Allen, Evangeline, and St. Landry Parishes.
Rain and thunderstorms become widespread during the PM hours Thursday. A severe storm cannot be ruled out and rainfall toatls may reach two inches.
