Pineville man arrested for cruelty to juvenile

DEVILLE, La. (KALB News Channel 5) - On March 18, 2014, the Rapides Parish Sheriff's Officereceived a complaint in reference to child abuse that occurred in the Devillearea. 

RPSO said the complainant reported that Jonathan Wayne McClinton, 26, of Pineville, hadphysically abused a juvenile family member while disciplining them. 

Thechild's injuries included lacerations, abrasions, whelps, and bruises whichcovered a large portion of the young juvenile's body, according to RPSO. 

During theirinvestigation RPSO Detectives were able to establish sufficient probable causethat supported the allegations. 

Warrants were granted for McClinton's arrest in reference to 2nd Degree Cruelty toJuveniles.   

On March 27, 2014, detectives made contact with McClinton atthe Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division. 

McClinton was taken into custody and booked into the RapidesParish Detention Center. 

He was released later that day after posting a$25,000.00 bond.
