Cotile Trade Days

Posted: Updated:

BOYCE, La. (KALB News Channel 5) - When you go out to the lake for the weekend, you usually cast out a line, camp or go swimming, but this weekend at Cotile Lake, everyone is shopping.

It's the Cotile Trade Days put on by the MacArthur Lions Club, an opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and check out some creative displays.

"We do several festivals, but this is one we really enjoy," said Juan Chavez of Casa Bonita Imports. "Especially it being out by the lake."

Chavez has been selling his metal decorations at Cotile Trade Days for five years. He says this is an event he looks forward to each year.

"We enjoy it here at this festival," he said. "Like every year we expect everyone to come out and enjoy it."

Not only is it a chance to shop, but also eat different kinds of food. For Wendolyn Morse of Cruisin Cooking, this is one of her favorite places to serve up her food.

"We have a lot of fun, it is a family oriented thing," said Morse. "We travel together, meet a lot of nice people. We just enjoy it."

The Lions Club is doing more than providing people with a good time, they are also helping others by giving the proceeds to charities in the community.

"We raise money for different charities and organizations here in the state of Louisiana," said John Cain of the MacArthur Drive Lions Club. "Every penny that is out here will go to another organization."

Cotile Trade Days continue Sunday, March 30, from 9am to 4pm.
