OAKDALE, La. (AP) - Authorities say an Oakdale man has been arrested in the stabbing death of a neighbor after an altercation on Monday.

The American Press reports 61-year-old Ralph Johnson was booked with second-degree murder, aggravated battery and obstruction of justice in the death of 21-year-old Micheal Kirklin, also of Oakdale. The two lived in the same apartment complex.

Johnson is being held in the Allen Parish jail without bond.

Police Chief Scotty LaBorde said Wednesday police were dispatched after receiving reports of a man with a knife threatening to kill people.

It was unclear whether Johnson has an attorney.
