MARKSVILLE, La. (KALB News Channel 5)- Can you imagine posting a picture or a video on social media and having hundreds of thousands of people see it? One Cenla teen experiences that on a daily basis. News Channel 5's Rachael Penton introduces us to a social media star in this edition of the Young Achiever's Spotlight.
Dylan Dauzat's journey to social media stardom all began right between the walls of his fan-mail covered room in Marskville.
"I started making inspiring Youtube videos and my fans seemed to love it," says Dauzat.
The sixteen year old is a sensation on social media and on Youtube. He shoots and edits his own weekly videos. They're geared towards his teenage fan base known as "Dylanators."
"Reading all these comments and getting all these letters that I get people are always telling me how I saved their lives by doing just little things like this and that's inspired me to keep going on and on and on and just keep doing it because I see such a big impact that I'm making on these girls lives."
Dylan traveled to Los Angeles last week to take part in the Cyberstar tour, where he joined other Internet celebrities in greeting fans.
Dylan's videos are sometimes silly and funny, but he says many of them have a serious message, that includes his faith.
"Social media is a big thing and if you have this much power use it for the right way. Make people happy. Talk to them about God. Let them know that not only am I there for them but somebody else is there for them also."
Dylan says his dream is to take his fame one step further- he wants to be an actor.
"Personally for me I'd rather do dramatic films than anything."
This young achiever is following his dreams. He hopes his followers will help him get from small screen to the big screen.
"Only God knows, but as far as I know. I see something coming up very soon and I think it may change my life."
