Man arrested in suspected meth sales complaint

DEVILLE, La. (KALB News Channel 5) - On April 9, 2014, deputies assigned to the Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office Metro Division responded to a tire shop, located on LA 1207 in Deville, in reference to frequent complaints of methamphetamine sales. 

Deputies said they were about to contact Michael Chatelain, 44, of Deville, who they observed toss an item into a trash can as they approached. 

Deputies explained the complaint and looked in the trash can.  A bag containing pink colored suspected Methamphetamine was recovered, according to RPSO. 

Chatelain was read his rights and consented to a search of the property. 

Deputies located a camouflaged pouch in Chatelain's desk drawer that contained a small plastic bag of suspected Methamphetamine and a green smoking pipe. 

Chatelain was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Rapides Parish Detention Center.  He was charged with 1 count Possession of CDS II and 1 ocunt Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
