ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5) - On April 9, 2014, detectives assigned to the Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office Metro Division closed an investigation involving the sales of crack cocaine.

Detectives received tips reporting a Jeep Cherokee regularly delivering crack cocaine in the Alexandria area.

Detectives said they continued to compile information for approximately a month and established surveillance on D'Markius Duncan, 27, of Alexandria.

While conducting surveillance detectives observed Duncan making a suspected delivery in the area of Gene Ball Drive, according to RPSO.

Detectives made contact with Duncan and a pat-down for weapons was conducted.

Detectives located half a "cookie" for suspected crack cocaine and assorted crack rocks in his clothing, RPSO said. Duncan told Detectives he was just trying to make some money.

He was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center and booked on 1 count Possession of CDS II to Distribute.

He was later released on $10,000.00 bond.
